Privacy Policy

Summary

Emoji Algebra is a free, noncommercial browser-based algebra game. It does not ask for names, email addresses, passwords, photos, voice recordings, precise location, payment information, or user accounts.

The site uses browser storage for progress on the same device. Shareable challenge links store only the puzzle data needed to open the link and aggregate open/solve counts.

Information stored on your device

Emoji Algebra stores a few values in your browser. They stay on your device unless your browser removes them or you clear site data.

• Puzzle progress
• The last puzzle you visited
• Whether you dismissed the resume prompt
• Your daily puzzle streak
• Which onboarding tips and coach steps you have already seen
• Challenge codes created from this browser, so the Your Puzzles page can show local links again

Information sent to the service

When you use the online game, the service may receive puzzle answers, puzzle progress needed to check an answer or reveal a hint, challenge drafts made in the builder, challenge codes, aggregate challenge open and solve counts, and timestamps such as created, opened, or solved.

Challenge links are shareable. Anyone with a challenge code can open that challenge. The builder is limited to structured puzzle data, such as emoji sets, numbers, clue equations, and a goal expression.

• To measure basic aggregate activity, such as solved puzzles, hints, created challenges, opened challenges, and solved challenges
• To operate, debug, secure, and improve the service

Analytics and advertising

Emoji Algebra does not show behavioral ads, sell personal information, or share personal information for targeted advertising. It does not use third-party advertising networks or social media plug-ins.

App analytics are limited to aggregate internal event counts, event type, a small event dimension such as puzzle level or emoji set, and event time.

Service providers and internal operations

Emoji Algebra runs on Cloudflare, which processes requests, logs, network identifiers, and stored challenge data to provide hosting, storage, security, and analytics.

Request data, including IP addresses, is used only to support the internal operations of the service: serving pages, security and abuse prevention, rate limiting, debugging, and aggregate activity counts. It is not used to contact anyone, build profiles, or target advertising, and it is not combined with other information about a visitor. Analytics events contain no user identifiers.

Children and parents

Emoji Algebra is made for kids around grades 4-5. It does not ask anyone — child or adult — for names, contact details, photos, voice recordings, location, or payment information.

A parent or guardian can ask questions about a challenge code by emailing the contact address below. Because Emoji Algebra has no accounts, the request needs the relevant challenge code.

Your choices

• You can clear Emoji Algebra browser data in your browser settings.
• You can block browser storage, but same-device progress and the local Your Puzzles list may not work as expected.
• You can remove a challenge from the local Your Puzzles list. This does not delete the public challenge link.
• A challenge link is not connected to you, your device, or any account — it contains only the puzzle. Since nothing ties a challenge to its creator, creators cannot be verified and links cannot be deleted on request. To flag a link, email the contact address below with the challenge code.
• Browser Do Not Track and Global Privacy Control signals are not used because Emoji Algebra does not sell personal information or share it for targeted advertising.

Retention

Browser data stays on your device until you clear it.

Request logs are retained for 7 days. Aggregate analytics counts are retained for three months.

Shared challenges and their open and solve counters are kept so the link keeps working. Challenges unopened for 24 months may be deleted.

Information is not kept longer than is reasonably necessary for the purposes described in this policy.

Security

Emoji Algebra uses reasonable technical and organizational safeguards for the information it keeps.

Changes

If this policy changes, the updated version will be posted here with a new effective date. If a change materially affects information already collected, Emoji Algebra will handle that change as required by law.
